1. To prevent wooden doors from being damaged by termites, you can apply concentrated saltwater several times on the surface, which can have a pest-repellent effect.
2. Soak cotton in camphor oil to make camphor cotton balls, and place them inside pianos, wooden furniture, wardrobes, and sinks to repel cockroaches and prevent insect damage.
3. Use an appropriate amount of hot peppers or Sichuan pepper, crush them into powder, stuff them into the holes, and pour boiling water over them. This has insecticidal effects and can prevent the spread of insect damage.
4. Mix firewater with a small amount of insecticide and drop it into the holes; this can also kill termites, but this method is not suitable for bamboo containers that store food, such as baskets and cabinets.
5. For corners that have not yet been damaged, use raw tung oil, shellac paint, or varnish to coat the surface of the wooden cabinet. This can isolate termites from the air and achieve pest prevention. Note that when painting, both sides and the inner walls of the cabinet should be coated evenly.
6. When wooden doors are infested with pests, you can mix dichlorvos with water in a 1:5 ratio to create a solution. Use a sprayer to spray it thoroughly so that the solution penetrates inside the wooden cabinet. Spray continuously for 3 to 5 times; after 8 hours, it can kill all termites. Afterwards, wash the wooden door with clean water and let it dry.
7. On sunny days, apply diesel to wooden doors that have been infested with pests by placing them in sunlight. Use a brush or cotton cloth soaked in diesel to coat the entire cabinet once. After drying for two to three hours, apply another coat and let it dry again until you see dead termites at the hole openings. Then wash it clean with laundry detergent and let it dry.
8. After purchasing a wooden door, soaking it in 3% sodium fluoride will permanently prevent insect damage.
Note: This method can also be used for wooden furniture.
